Battlefield 6 Battle Pass Items Will Return Later, For a Price

Battlefield Studios has revealed a major change to how the battle pass mechanics work in Battlefield 6, the first-person shooter that dropped last year to a mixed reception. The game has wavered somewhat in the months that have followed its release, but it’s not doing too badly, all things considered.

In a new blog post, the team revealed that items players ‘may have missed’ from their battle pass will be added into the in-game store as items and bundles further down the line, for an additional cost, of course.

Battlefield 6 Battle Pass Content Will Be Recycled

If you’ve ever bought the Battlefield 6 battle pass and not managed to finish it, you might have missed out on some nice loot. Things such as weapon skins, blueprints, operator outfits, emblems, and more, all might have been lost to the passage of time.

That’s why, in a new post on social media, Battlefield Studios has revealed a change coming to how it all works.

We’ve heard from players who want more opportunities to earn or own cosmetics they may have missed, while also keeping each season exciting to participate in as it happens. With that in mind, starting in Season 4, we’ll begin bringing back select items from previous Battle Passes as in-game store items and bundles.

It’ll be at least three months between the battle pass expiring and the items being added to the store, the team said. This helps keep some of the value in the battle pass, because what’s the point in chasing the items in the pass if you’ll just be able to buy everything later on?

Not everything will return, though:

Not all Battle Pass content will return: Battle Pass Instant Unlocks, BF Pro Instant Unlocks, and items from the Ultimate and Prestige Paths will remain exclusive to their original season and won’t be made available again. Please note that the exact timing, availability, and selection of returning items may change over time and are not guaranteed.

These changes are a teeny bit controversial, but it’s all in the name of player retention and making a bit of money to keep the game going for longer. Which, based on recent discussions, could be another couple of years yet.
