The evolution of microtransactions will eventually need to be studied one day, as this is a new one for us. With Battlefield 6 Season 3 on the horizon, you can secure your Battle Pass for the new season and be incentivized to do so.
Battlefield 6 is still retaining a relatively healthy player base nearly seven months on from launch. Don’t get it wrong, though; at least on PC, the game has lost over 90% of its players, but there are still tens of thousands appearing each day, with more on console.
If you are still enjoying Battlefield 6, you might be interested to know about the game’s latest microtransaction-based feature, which almost beggars belief.
Pre-Order The Battlefield 6 Season 3 Battle Pass

If you log into Battlefield 6 right now, there’s a good chance you’ll see the new Battlefield 6 Season 3 advert. Only, it’s nothing to do with upcoming maps or modes; it’s a suggestion for a ‘Next Season Pre-Order.’
As you can see below in Charlie Intel’s post, you can pre-order either the normal Battle Pass or Pro upgrade.
There’s no price reduction for doing so, but you are rewarded for your loyalty with some benefits, just about.
With the normal pass, you get instant access to the Verdant L110 Weapon Package and 2 Tier Skips. Whereas the Pro pass gives you 2 Weapon Packs, the Tier Skips, and an XP boost.
For some players, this will be a handy timesaver to get ready for Season 3, but some may view this for what it is: Pre-paying for extra paid content for the game you already own.
This is one of the more eye-opening things I’ve seen for a while. However, it’s a sign of the times, with companies always looking for the next microtransaction move. Do you agree with this? Let us know through the Insider Gaming Discord.
