Away Team, the next adventure in the Oxygen Not Included series, has announced co-op will be featured in the title, while sign ups are now open for the first playtest.
Set to release later this year, Away Team sees players mistakenly shipped off on a research rocket, encountering a strange new world where you must take care of the simulation to survive and thrive.
The good news is, you won’t have to do it alone.
Multiplayer Announced For Away Team
As part of the Triple I Initiative showcase, co-op functionality for Away Team has been announced, a major step for the Oxygen Not Included series after years of community requests.
Fans of the series have previously had to turn to mods to experience multiplayer, but that won’t be required when Away Team launches later this year, as Klei Entertainment announced multiplayer is now in development.
Check out the trailer shown at the Triple I Initiative showcase below.
Alongside the announcement of multiplayer, it was also announced that sign-ups are now open to be a part of Away Team’s first single-player playtest on Steam.
While multiplayer functionality won’t be part of that playtest, it will provide select players with the first opportunity to try out Away Team, ahead of the eagerly anticipated launch later this year.
