Carrie Patel, the director behind Avowed, has left Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios for a new opportunity at Netflix Games.
In a post on LinkedIn, Patel confirmed the news herself stating that she was joining Night School as a game director. Patel leaves Obsidian after nearly 12 years where, in addition to working as a game director, she was a narrative co-lead and senior narrative designer.
Night School is the studio known for Oxenfree and Oxenfree II. It’s currently unknown what new game Patel will be working on as the studio hasn’t made any public announcement about future game plans.
Insider Gaming has reached out to Night School for comment on Patel’s arrival and plans for the the studio. Should a response be received, it will be added to this story.
As far as Obsidian is concerned, the studio is working on the upcoming release of The Outer Worlds 2 which is being directed by Brandon Adler. The studio is scheduled to hold a special showcase event on June 8 immediately following the Xbox Games Showcase.
