Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced PS5 Pro Features Revealed

Ubisoft has revealed all the PS5 and PS5 Pro features players can take advantage of with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The highly anticipated remake of one of the most popular titles in the Assassin’s Creed series is set to release in less than two weeks. Players can look forward to enhanced visuals and improved gameplay. Additionally, the PS5 Pro will offer further enhancements to this experience.

Black Flag Resynced PS5 and PS5 Pro Graphics Modes

Starting with the PS5 version, “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced” has been remade using the latest Anvil engine. This upgrade brings several enhancements, including options for 60 FPS, HDR support, Dolby Atmos, DualSense haptic feedback, and more. The PS5 will offer three graphics modes, all featuring a 2160p upscaled resolution:

  • Performance Mode: 60 FPS with standard Ray Tracing
  • Fidelity Mode: 30 FPS with extended Ray Tracing
  • Balanced Mode: 40 FPS with extended Ray Tracing

Ray Tracing Global Illumination will be enabled for all graphics modes on the PS5 and PS5 Pro. Ray-Traced Specular Reflections are available in Balanced and Fidelity modes on PS5 and across all graphics modes on PS5 Pro. PS5 Pro will use significantly more GPU power, providing enhanced ray-tracing performance and having more “headroom for higher fidelity and more stable performance.”

PS5 Pro Will Feature Strand-Based Hair Simulation for Black Flag Resynced

Moreover, the PS5 Pro version of Black Flag Resynced will simulate and render individual hair strands rather than using traditional hair cards. This stand-based hair will be available for Edward in all modes, for the crowd in Fidelity mode, and cinematics will use this system for all characters regardless of the mode.

Lastly, the upgraded PSSR will provide better image quality and improved reconstruction, reducing the visual gap between performance and fidelity modes. Check out the PS5 Pro modes for Black Flag Resynced below; all will provide 2160p upscaled resolution with enhanced PSSR.

  • Performance Mode: 60 FPS with extended Ray Tracing
  • Fidelity Mode: 30 FPS with extended Ray Tracing
  • Balanced Mode: 40 FPS with extended Ray Tracing

For those wondering, Standard ray tracing will compute global illumination for diffuse lighting throughout the game world. Extended will bring full support of ray tracing to compute global illumination for diffuse lighting and reflective surfaces throughout the game world. All details were provided through a PlayStation blog post.
