The Nintendo Switch 2 is a beast, and a huge upgrade over the first Switch—no offense to it. But Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a modern-day remake with all the massive AAA qualities you’d want, which puts a Switch 2 version in doubt.
2013’s Black Flag came out during a hot time when the PS3 and Xbox 360 were doing well, but the era of the PS4 and the Xbox One was beginning. There were pirates and pals across multiple formats, but in 2026, it’s a different time and proposition.
Can You Play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on Nintendo Switch 2?

There will be no Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced version for the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
You can play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on PS5, you can set sail on Xbox Series X|S, and you can share a hearty grog on PC.

However, despite the increased presence of AAA, third-party titles on Nintendo Switch, thanks to the Switch 2, Ubisoft hasn’t announced a port on the newest console.
And it was made clear that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was not coming to Nintendo Switch at launch.
Will Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Come to Switch 2?
It’s looking increasingly unlikely that we’ll get a Nintendo Switch 2 port for AC Resynced.
There’s been a theory that a Switch 2 version could be issued after the initial release, but an Assassin’s Creed Shadows patch notes article (of all things, I know) had a curious note that casts doubt over Resynced happening on Switch 2.

Here’s what AC Shadows Title Update 1.1.11 explained:
‘To activate the new Projects, complete Anomalies and progress through the rewards like previously released ones. These include rewards for both Shadows and Black Flag Resynced and can be progressed by completing Anomalies from both games.
Note: Unfortunately, these will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2 as it contains crossover content with Black Flag Resynced, which will not be releasing for Nintendo.’
So, never say never, but it’s not looking good. If you want to play Resynced, you’ll need a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC!
