Players were already aware that some kind of Ghost Recon: Wildlands Definitive Edition was in the works for the current-gen consoles. Now, the PS Store listing has accidentally revealed all the details ahead of the official announcement.
Ghost Recon Wildlands Next-Gen Upgrade Details Revealed
Spotted by ImmortalGhostYT and confirmed by TheGamer, details about the next-gen upgrade for Ghost Recon Wildlands were accidentally revealed on the PlayStation Store. One key piece of information is that players can enjoy free play from August 6 to August 10. This has led many to speculate that the game might be shadow-dropped tomorrow, likely following the 25th anniversary event.
The second piece of information is a brand new free story pack, the Last Rites, for The Ghost Recon Wildlands. In the description of this free mission, it was also stated that players will be able to “experience enhanced gameplay with 60FPS, 4K graphics, quality-of-life updates, new cosmetics and more!” Additionally, the game is expected to have adaptive triggers as well. The Reddit post also talks about faster load times and 3D audio support; these weren’t mentioned in the listing.
Players who own a digital PS4 version of Ghost Recon Wildlands can grab the PS5 digital version for free. If you own a PS4 disc version, you will have to put the disc in every time to download and play the PS5 version.
Ubisoft is yet to officially announce these details and the shadow drop date for the title.

Depends on what they actually put into this for content… They have taken way too long of a break from the Ghost Recon franchise. Even though Wildlands ultimately did not end up landing where they hoped as the next mainline title for GR… They still should not have just said F it we aren’t going to make any more of these for 10 years. Ubissoft wants to be all in on there top IP… I mean why the Hell is Division 2 still getting content, and they haven’t gotten Division 3 ready to drop. Most gamers think Division 2 is dead and Ubiis taking way too long for Division 3 so it must be dead… they just don’t know how to manage there IPs. Even what we do know about Ubisofts roadmap… they have way too many Assassin Creed games on it, that should be a series that gets a great game once every 3 or 4 years. Same with Ghost Recon. They have had every damn type of Far Cry spin off that you can think of in development… And none of them woulda worked. Trying to make a live service multiplayer Fall Guys Assassin Creed is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard, and they were serious. Trying to turn Far Cry into an extraction shooter… Why? Who hit the crack pipe before work that day? N who were the yes men saying great idea. THEY ALL NEED TO HIT THE ROAD JACK. Ubi could be so much better than it is, Black Flag proves that in my eyes.
