All Roadcraft Vehicles and Types, Explained

Roadcraft has a huge fleet of vehicles to get behind the wheel of, each of which has specific jobs to do, and we’ve broken them all down in this guide.

Whether you want to focus on building new roads and bridges or clearing debris, Roadcraft has plenty of jobs to tick off, but the vehicles are the key aspect, as without them, you won’t get very far.

Roadcraft’s vehicles feature some returning names from Snowrunner and other games, along with some new additions.

Scouts may not be the biggest tool in your arsenal, but they are invaluable in Roadcraft as they are the vehicle you will start every map on and more than likely the one you will use to test out routes.

Scouts can go where larger vehicles can’t and are the perfect test subject for any routes you have planned—if your scout can’t make it, neither will any other vehicle you send down the route.

Equipped with Object Scanners and Terrain Scanners, Scouts help find lost items and, crucially, warn of hazards where water depth can flood your engine and leave you stranded.

All Roadcraft Special Equipment Vehicles

Special Equipment Vehicles in Roadcraft are geared to a particular job, and while you may find some use for the transporters in other roles, the Vostok Tk-53 ‘Krot’ cable layer won’t do you much good if you’re not repairing electrical lines.

They’re important tools in your kit though, doing jobs that no other vehicle can, but there’s definitely some crossover in this section with some of the vehicles.

All Roadcraft Road Works Vehicles

Road Works Vehicles do exactly as you’d expect them to do in Roadcraft, as they are crucial tools when building roads—which you need four types of vehicles to do.

Dump trucks lay the sand, dozers flatten the terrain, asphalt pavers lay the tarmac, and the rollers smooth the road for a comfortable ride.

Each is important, each cannot be replaced, so make sure you always have them at your disposal, particularly if there’s some areas you just can’t seem to drive through seamlessly.

All Roadcraft Cargo Vehicles

Cargo vehicles in Roadcraft will be familiar to long-term players of the series, as they had an important role in Snowrunner, and it’s the same story here, as they’re the perfect tool for transporting resources and junk over long distances.

Some cargo trucks can be equipped with a small crane, great for picking up recyclable objects on the go, while others have more specified jobs like transporting wooden logs.

All Roadcraft Logging Vehicles

Logging vehicles are crucial for clearing the forest to make new paths, with the stump mulchers and tree harvesters both have specific jobs.

Tree harvesters do exactly what it says on the tin, cutting down trees to make wooden logs, and mulchers clear up the stumps that are left behind—though they’re also great for clearing any fallen branches and small debris on roads.

All Roadcraft Cranes

From big cranes to little cranes, Roadcraft has plenty to keep you busy and provides the perfect tools for all types of objects.

We’ve omitted some cranes from this list as they are stationary and cannot be purchased, instead becoming available on certain maps through exploration, but the others listed are must-haves if you need to clear any road of hazards.
