Activision Blizzard Games Won’t Be At Xbox Developer Direct

Microsoft has announced its next Xbox Developer Direct event for Thursday, January 18 where it’ll cover a number of games Xbox fans will get to play later this year. What it won’t have, however, are any updates on Activision Blizzard games.

In the announcement of the Developer Direct, Xbox says that Activision Blizzard won’t have any games appear. However, their time is coming.

“Please note that while this show won’t have updates on games from Activision Blizzard, you can look forward to news from those teams later this year,” the company said.

While Activision Blizzard won’t be a part of the Xbox Developer Direct, there are some major games set to get updates. The first Indiana Jones gameplay trailer will be revealed along with new looks at Avowed and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

It’s expected that all of the games shown will be released at some point in 2024, including the Indiana Jones game. That wasn’t officially confirmed by Microsoft in its announcement of the event, however.

When do you think we’ll see the next update on games from Activision Blizzard now that it’s owned by Microsoft? For more Insider Gaming, read about Unity’s plans to layoff 25% of its total workforce.

  • Outside COD and Overwatch what new AAA game is coming from them? It better not be another garbage toys for bob game because they ruined Crash and bet the ruin Spyro more

  • I hope they show the non COD games like reports were IW was making a third person action game so that sounds cool. It would be great if VV could come back and remake THPS3+4 and Banjo. Treyarch and Radical making games like Spiderman and Hulk again would be perfect too. Give Blur to Playground and try bringing some other old IP back like True Crime, Prototype, and Tenchu remakes would work too.

  • I hope Xbox saves Vicarious Visions from Blizzard and brings them back for remakes ei Banjo, Conker, Kameo, THUG, THPS, etc

  • Since Sony has Marvel on lock they should get the DC license Treyarch, Beenox, High Moon, and Radical used to make some bangers for Marvel back in the day Raven too just get them DC and hopefully they could fix the damage the DC brand has been through at least a new open world Batman or Batman Beyond game,

  • Since Microsoft is cool with Disney now they should get The Simpsons license and remake Hit and Run with Cel shaded graphics.

  • No need I already know
    Call of Duty Black Ops
    Call of Duty 2026
    Overwatch 2
    Spyro
    Warzone 3
    Just more boring games
