As the end of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s lifecycle arrives, fans are preparing themselves for a farewell to the platform that has existed for more than two years. In 2020, Valhalla was released, and since then, it has become one of the most expanded-on iterations in the history of the franchise.
For the final update, aptly titled The Last Chapter, Ubisoft has reportedly opted to feature crossovers between Valhalla and both Destiny 2 and Monster Hunter. These crossovers come in the form of exclusive outfits, made available through the final update for the game and revealed by dataminers digging through upcoming, unreleased content.
Going Out with a Bang
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has had a lengthy lifecycle, one which has brought about many expansions, updates, and a plethora of downloadable content. It’s not over yet, though – Eivor has a swansong journey to take that will effectively wrap up their story in Valhalla. It’s an epic conclusion to an otherwise lengthy story, and it’s an expansion like never before.
Recently, YouTube user MAK Moderator released a five-minute long video that allegedly revealed five new armour sets that will be delivered along with The Last Chapter update. These sets include iconic outfits taken directly from both Destiny 2 and Monster Hunter.
There’s a Lord Shaxx outfit, allowing players to dress up as the indomitable figure that runs The Crucible in Destiny 2. Then, there’s a Saint-14 set, which gives players the ability to don iconic Titan armour, which is also from Destiny 2. Finally, there’s the Odoragon set, which is an instantly recognisable outfit taken straight from Monster Hunter: World.
What’s more telling, is that Insider Gaming reported exclusively yesterday that Monster Hunter Rise will be coming to consoles in 2023, so the crossover is likely a tie-in to the announcement.
Crossing Over and Heading Off
This isn’t the first time that Assassin’s Creed and Monster Hunter: World have had a crossover event. Last year, in November, players exploring Monster Hunter: World could undertake a series of quests that would reward them with in-game outfits that were essentially replicas of some of the most iconic Assassin’s Creed sets.
At present, it isn’t known if these crossovers run deeper than just the provision of exclusive armour sets, but it won’t take long to find that out. On the 29th of November, on the Assassin’s Creed Twitter profile, it was revealed that The Last Chapter DLC would be dropping early.
Now that Valhalla’s story comes to an end, fans will be eagerly awaiting the delivery of the sizeable Assassin’s Creed roadmap ahead, which begins with AC: Mirage.
