Absolum Getting an Animated Adaptation

The upcoming beat ’em up Absolum is already getting an animated adaptation, thanks to Dotemu and Supamonks.

Releasing on October 9th, Absolum combines smooth animation with addictive combat. A demo for the game released as part of Steam Next Fest, and fans were quick to call it the best of the bunch. As the wait for its release draws closer, it seems one of the highlights of the marketing campaign is going to play a big part in the series’ future.

Absolum Being Adapted Into An Animated Series by Supamonks

In a press release, Dotemu announced that it is partnering with Supamonks on an animated series of Absolum. Supamonks is notable for doing the animated trailers, as well as helping with the game’s art. Unfortunately, there are no other details, like a release date or where one can watch it. Speaking on behalf of Supamonks is CEO Julien Bagnol-Roy, who states:

“We are particularly excited about making this animated series because Supamonks has been involved in the Absolum project since its inception,” said Bagnol-Roy. “Our teams have helped shape this universe right from the very start, and being able to now transform it into an animated series feels like a logical and exciting next step in our work. It is a unique opportunity to add a new dimension to a world we already know so well.”

Furthermore, Dotemu’s CEO, Cyrille Imbert, said the following on Absolum’s adaptation:

“As the first original production in our portfolio, Absolum has been given special attention at every stage of its development,” states Imbert. “Thanks to the game’s lore, art, and narrative development, we are certain it will be transformed into an incredible TV series—one that we would love to watch ourselves! The quality of their work and their involvement in the game’s artistic direction make Supamonks the ideal partner for this ambitious project.”
