Riot Games has released a preview for the next League of Legends update, Patch 26.12, which will be the last patch before the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).
League of Legends MSI 2026 will be then be played on Patch 26.13, and it seems Riot is making significant changes before then with the large international esports tournament in mind.
The preview reveals that at least 15 champions will receive buffs or nerfs in the next patch, though these are subject to change as Riot is still collecting data from 26.11.
And there is also set to be an update to Teleport, which could have huge repercussions for pro-level games.
All of this is coming to the game, plus a huge ARAM Mayhem update and the introduction of Ranked 5s as revealed by the latest LoL dev update.

Phroxzon Explains 26.12 Changes
Lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison has broken down the proposed changes for the next patch.
Phroxzon revealed that the publishers aren’t too happy with instances in pro play where Teleport is used just for its shield:
“While this is a cool usage of the spell, it’s a pretty unintuitive behaviour, and we want to skew its usage to be better to use for its cross-map and joining fights capabilities,” the designer said.
As a result, Riot is looking to decrease the duration of the shield while making the shield a little bigger in compensation.
Making the shield bigger does sound counterintuitive, but it will depend on the final numbers.
Additionally, he revealed that Yuumi is getting compensation buffs for the Moonstone nerfs, and Lee Sin is being nerfed slightly after the changes to his kit in 26.10.
However, the main focus for this patch appears to be shaking up the mid lane meta as Phroxzon explained:
“For average play, AP Xin Zhao has been tearing up the rift with a lot of his power budget in healing, especially in the early lane creating some pretty uninteractive lane states.”
“Otherwise, [expect] a few adjustments to the champions who have a bit of room in Solo Queue, like Hwei, Sylas, Syndra and nerfs to some of the top-end like Cassio (who really benefited from Deathfire Touch being added), Ryze and Ori who have been strong for pretty much the whole season.”
