Conan Exiles Enhanced Announced, Coming May 5th For Free

Funcom has unveiled Conan Exiles Enhanced, a super-sized overhaul-based update coming to the existing platform for free on May 5th. The team confirmed that the update is arriving in time for the game’s eighth anniversary on May 8th, and it offers ‘dramatically improved visuals, enhanced performance, and modern rendering technology.’

Conan Exiles is a brutal and enormous open-world survival game that, even after almost a decade on the market, enjoys an active audience represented by thousands of concurrent players.

Conan Exiles is Getting Better Than Ever with Enhanced

In a press release, the CCO at Funcom, Joel Bylos, said:

Conan has been the heart of Funcom for nearly two decades, and with the new Enhanced upgrade, Conan Exiles continues to carve its legacy in video games.

We know these upgrades are often sold at a premium or released as a separate, enhanced product, but we wanted to offer this for free to fans past, present, and future, as an anniversary gift and a token of our appreciation for their support.

We are so proud of this game and the work our team has put into it over the years, and we want this upgrade to breathe new life and energy into the game for a long time to come.

The new ‘version’ of Conan Exiles has been compiled in collaboration with Inflexion Games, which also spoke on the impending arrival of the overhaul, which takes the game to the realms of Unreal Engine 5:

We’re honored to collaborate with Funcom on upgrading Conan Exiles to Unreal Engine 5. Taking such a beloved game and updating it with new technology, materials and shaders, UI, and a range of quality-of-life (QoL) improvements creates a new foundation for the next decade of adventures for players around the world.

Conan Exiles Enhanced will introduce stable 60+ FPS gameplay, upgrade the game’s performance on handheld devices, and deliver ‘a deeper level of immersion for both new players and long-time fans.’

The free update, which arrives on Steam on May 5th, also introduces open travel between the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah, for those who own the expansion. Additionally, players will now be able to create multiple characters per account and lean on an enhanced and revamped user interface.

The team at Funcom revealed that your progress in the base game will carry across into the upgraded version, the client size has been slashed by 80 GB, modding support will be available from day one, and crafting and building mechanics have been overhauled.

It’s a massive update.
