Dylan ‘Nero’ Koch has been dropped by the Carolina Royal Ravens after a brief scandal emerged online across social media this weekend. The Call of Duty League pro player became the subject of scrutiny after direct messages were leaked between him and an unidentified female, showing him trying to engage her in ‘esex’.
Nero posted a message on socials responding to the situation in jest, and fans and followers alike rushed to support him in what has been labelled a ridiculous situation.
Carolina Cuts Nero After DMs Emerge
Nero has been forced out of the Carolina Royal Ravens after around five months on the roster. The pro player, who joined Carolina in November 2025 ahead of the 2026 CDL season, was pushed out of the lineup for ‘trying to get some’ (as one user wrote on social media).
On socials, user ‘virtualnekoo’ shared DMs between them and Nero, revealing a lewd conversation and advances by the CDL player. That account has since been deleted from the X platform, after facing a slew of abuse from those backing Nero.
One user wrote in a bittersweet defense:
Lemme tell you as weird as what you did was, her exposing you was 10000x weirder. You’re awkward, but she’s a piece of s**t.
Nero responded to the Carolina Royal Ravens decision:
Sorry I have a real life. A lot of gamers communicate primarily online, through Twitter and DMs, and the way people talk in those spaces can be very different. That said, what was sent clearly wasn’t received appropriately, and I understand that. I just wish this could’ve been handled privately instead of turning into a public pile on.
Other users on social media suspected an ulterior motive for the move:
This was an excuse to remove a high tier player (with a high salary) and replace him with an entry salary player because your org is poverty. All he did was goon in private cringe but not firing worthy.
