Recently, news hit the airwaves regarding an allegedly leaked clip of Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris, one of the superstar CDL players for LA Thieves, throwing out a slur during a scrim. The pro player, who is one of the most prolific and decorated competitors in the Call of Duty League, was heard slamming another player, labelling them a f****t.
The clip came courtesy of an anonymous X account that has since disappeared from the platform, taking the original upload with it. That wasn’t before others secured their copy of the clip and started pushing it around socials, prompting Nadeshot, the founder of 100 Thieves, to address the scandal.
aBeZy ‘F Word Scandal’ Explained
In a clip uploaded to social media, Call of Duty fans everywhere heard aBeZy, who currently occupies a spot on the LA Thieves roster, drop the F word, aiming the slur at RenKoR.
The clip came from a recent (but undated) scrim against Miami Heretics. It’s only nine seconds long, but it sees aBeZy air frustrations at RenKor, who landed a two-piece in the earlier seconds of the video. In response, aBeZy said:
I don’t get it.
RenKoR has got it, this f***ing f****t.
God damn it.
Nadeshot then surfaced on a stream addressing the clip, suggesting that it’s not anything to worry about and explaining how the world will soon move on:
We’re going to revolve around the sun, like we always do.
S**t is going to just move on, brother. Everyone wants something to be mad about.
He really hit that s**t though, didn’t he? Oh my God…
Anyone who is anyone in the Call of Duty space knows that aBeZy isn’t the first person to cast out the slur, and he won’t be the last. We’ve seen similarly damaging things said in the professional space over the years, and as Nadeshot said, folks have moved on.
In a more dire line, some fans have theorized that someone at LA Thieves wants aBeZy off the team, leaking the VOD clip under the guise of a burner to besmirch his name.
