Konami Raising Base Salary For Employees

Konami has announced it is raising employees’ base salaries for the fifth consecutive fiscal year.

Konami announced in a press release that it has increased the base salary for new employees by ¥70,000 compared to three years ago. The company stated that this increase enables it to offer competitive compensation to new recruits and fosters an environment where talented employees can thrive and find satisfaction in their work.

“By consistently investing in human capital, including the raise of base salary this time, we will aim to improve employee engagement and continue to create better products and services.

“Looking five to ten years ahead into the future, Konami Group is committed to achieving sustainable growth by securing diverse and talented human resources, maximizing the abilities of our employees, and creating both a comfortable and satisfying working environment.”

Konami Is Having A Resurgence

Konami was once a powerhouse developer in the video game space in the 1990s. The brand delivered Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and several arcade classics, and its iconic startup sound is burned into the minds of many who grew up playing those titles.

Now, Konami is experiencing a slight resurgence. In 2024, the brand reported record profits, and earlier this year, it announced new games, including a brand-new Castlevania title.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was announced by Konami during PlayStation’s February 2026 State of Play presentation. The game is slated to release in 2026. Learn more here.
