Pikmin 4 could be heading to Nintendo Switch 2 sooner rather than later. According to known leaker NateTheHate, Nintendo could be looking at releasing a Switch 2 edition of the game over the next few months.
During his latest show on YouTube, NateTheHate says that he’s heard Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition could “potentially” be released this summer. That said, he wasn’t 100% on it happening.
“I’m not sure if it’s necessarily set in stone that it would be a summer release, but we should definitely be seeing it this year,” he said.
Pikmin 4 was released for the original Nintendo Switch in July 2023. Since its release, the game received favorable reviews from critics and universal acclaim from players.
“On a peculiar far away planet, a group of space travellers are stranded and awaiting rescue,” the game’s description reads. “Are you the right rescuer for the job? Pick up their SOS signals and explore an uncharted world inhabited by a curious crop of creatures.”
The game was also the first in the series to feature a customizable playable character. It even included new Night Expeditions that saw players go up against waves of enemies…at night.
When it launched, Pikmin 4 had been in development for at least eight years. It was also the first mainline Pikmin game to release since 2013’s Pikmin 3.
