Super Mario Galaxy Movie Voice Actor For Star Fox’s Fox McCloud Revealed

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has the unenviable task of trying to live up to the worldwide success of 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The cast is stacked once more, and the internet was shocked to learn that Star Fox’s very own Fox McCloud would be offering a helping hand.

Star Fox is another of Nintendo‘s most beloved characters, with seasoned gamers having spent decades getting to know and use the heroic fox. With the first movie boasting so much firepower in its cast, the honor of voicing Fox McCloud is a big one.

Glen Powell Revealed As Fox McCloud in Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Glen Powell has become somewhat of a Hollywood man in recent years. The actor didn’t find too much success early on in his career, but in the last few years, he gained serious credit with his role in The Expendables 3. Since 2018, his portfolio has heated up more than a fireball-throwing Mario.

Leading roles in Anyone But You (alongside Sydney Sweeney), The Running Man, and How To Make A Killing have skyrocketed Glen Powell’s career into the stratosphere—apt, given his latest role. It seemed like Powell was ready to take another huge step forward, and the actor has now well and truly emerged from his foxhole with his role in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

According to Variety: ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is assembling even more A-list voice actors as Glen Powell will bring to life Fox McCloud, the surprise Nintendo character joining the Mario Bros.’

Star Fox fans will be hoping Powell does the character justice, and his own fans are surely delighted to see the actor land such a super role, letting out an audible yahoo!

What do you think about this casting choice? Is Powell right for the part? Does he deserve the recognition he’s been getting the last few years? Share your thoughts through the Insider Gaming Discord.

  • Kind of a mess if they want to do Smash since Zelda is at Sony. Honestly anime was a better choice for all these not these bad hollyweird movies. Does this end with Wario end credits?
