How To Clear Your Bounty In Crimson Desert—Crime System, Explained

Crimson Desert has plenty of laws that you’ll need to abide by if you’re not looking to get on the wrong side of the justice system. However, there’s a high likelihood that at some point, you’ll slip up, and land a bounty on your head.

Before you know it, guards are looking for you, and if they get their hands on you, you’ll be spending some time in the slammer. Thankfully, there’s a way to clear your bounty in Crimson Desert, but like most systems in the game, it’s not entirely obvious.

If you’ve managed to get yourself a bounty, here’s how you can clear it in Crimson Desert.

Before you’d need to clear a bounty, you’d have to get one first, and in the world of Crimson Desert, that can be done in a variety of ways.

There are plenty of crimes to commit in Crimson Desert. There are the obvious ones, like stealing or murder, but even things like vandalism and animal abuse could get you locked up—and rightfully so!

Now, of course, you can get away with some crimes, so long as there aren’t any witnesses. With that in mind, make sure you’re hidden before you start stealing items, though you’ll still lose some Faction Reputation regardless.

If you are caught, you’ll quickly get slapped with a bounty, and depending on the severity of the crime, the price on your head will vary. You’ll want to be rid of it before it accumulates too much, otherwise you’ll be fresh out of coin, so here’s how to clear your name.

To clear your bounty in Crimson Desert, you’ll need to go to a church and speak to its Confessional.

Where better to cleanse yourself of sin than a church? So long as you’re not actively being hunted, you can head inside and speak to the Confessional, who will offer you the chance to buy a Writ of Absolution.

With this, you can pay off your own bounty, thus stopping the law from hunting you down. Of course, if you’ve run up a hefty fine, it might take you some time to clear your name, but it’s worth the effort to be able to roam freely across Pywel.

You can find churches scattered across the continent, and at each one, you should be able to find a Confessional. That means you can freely commit crimes in every region, with the knowledge that you can clear your conscience anytime, any place.
