Can You Play Crimson Desert In First Person?

Most games tend to stick to one perspective, but it’s becoming increasingly common for some to offer the chance to switch between first and third person. Each has its own advantages, but some people undoubtedly prefer one over the other.

Crimson Desert has been primarily marketed as a third-person RPG, which might leave some fans of the FPS genre a bit left out. However, if you’re interested in exploring the expansive world of Pywel in first person, then you might just be in luck.

Here’s whether you can play Crimson Desert in first person.

FPS fans, rejoice! You can absolutely play Crimson Desert in first person, and it’s incredibly seamless to switch.

All you need to do is toggle the distance that the camera is away from the protagonist. As if one third-person perspective wasn’t enough, Crimson Desert offers various distances from the player, with both a more zoomed out, detached experience, as well as the closer, more personal one.

But if you’re looking to really immerse yourself in the world of Pywel, just toggle the camera once more to see through the eyes of the protagonist. Stare out across the beautiful landscapes or explore the tight quarters of the wonderfully designed interiors. It’s an FPS dream, but it does unfortunately come with a major caveat…

The dream won’t last forever, as you cannot play through the entirety of Crimson Desert in first person.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, FPS fans, but whenever you draw your weapon, you’ll exit first-person mode and be returned to third person instead. That means whenever combat arises, which is fairly regularly in this Action-RPG, you’ll be flushed out of the character’s eyes and thrown into the heat of battle.

It’s a shame, as the world of Crimson Desert looks even more stunning in first person, but the gameplay has to come first, and that was primarily designed with third person in mind. Who knows, though, perhaps in a future update, you’ll be able to play through the entire game in first person, but for now, you’ll have to keep your eyes in the sky.
