Rekkles Isn’t Retiring Despite Los Ratones and Witchcraft Ending

Iconic League of Legends pro Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson has confirmed he is not planning on retiring from his LoL esports career just yet.

The 29-year-old is a four-time LEC champion and has stated that he plans to fight for a spot on a Tier 1 team next year, whether that’s as an ADC, support, or coach.

Following the end of Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont’s Los Ratones project, the roster continued as ‘Witchcraft’ in EMEA Masters Winter with the addition of Gabriël ‘Bwipo’ Rau.

However, Witchcraft was shockingly eliminated early from EMEA Masters Winter by G2 Nord, the academy of LEC champions G2 Esports, and now the Swede is without a team.

His LEC Versus campaign with Los Ratones was Rekkles’ first time competing in the EMEA league since 2023 and proved that he is still capable of competing at an elite level.

What Is Next For Rekkles?

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Rekkles revealed his plans for the remainder of the year.

The former Fnatic and G2 pro says his main focus is on the November transfer window in the offseason and he will use the rest of 2026 to prove that he deserves a spot on a team next year.

Rekkles plans on co-streaming international events like LoL First Stand and MSI with a “big picture League of Legends focus” to practice and showcase his coaching abilities.

Then, Rekkles will be bootcamping in South Korea for over a month, between May 4 and June 15, where he will be practising as both an ADC and support.

After a successful 11 years as an ADC, Rekkles roleswapped to the less-mechanically intense support role for the 2024 season with T1 Academy. Now, Rekkles is seemingly considering returning to his original role.

Rekkles says after spending the year grinding, he will go on vacation on August 3 and, from there, will reassess exactly what he wants heading into the offseason.

Does Rekkles still have what it takes to compete in the LEC? Let us know your thoughts on the Insider Gaming Discord.

And look forward to the next LoL esports season as LoL Worlds 2027 dates have been revealed.
