Elgato Wave Link 3.0 Brings Major New Features To macOS

For years, macOS users have often felt left out when new software gets released. Developing for Apple’s operating system comes with different challenges than Windows, and, for some, it’s viewed as not being worth the time. For Elgato, they know there’s a user base that would appreciate additional flexibility, especially when it comes to audio. That’s why Elgato is bringing a major new feature to macOS users with Wave Link 3.0.

Announced this week, Wave Link 3.0 is the next step for the company’s audio mixing software. A tool designed to bring “broadcast-level routing and effects without a steep learning curve or workarounds”, Wave Link lets you mix your audio at a level that you used to have to shell out money for.

The software lets you choose what you want to hear, what you want your audience to hear, and at what levels. Up until now, you had to have the software front and center to make those adjustments. In Wave Link 3.0 for macOS, you can now set your per-app and input volume control right within the macOS menu bar.

Before this feature, users needed to install open source options that could be daunting if you’ve never gone that route. With this, it’s all built into the software, meaning no extra add-ons or work is necessary.

This makes changing audio levels quick and easy. To some, it might not seem like that big of a deal. To others, it’s sure to be a game-changer in accessibility and ease of use.

Aside from the menu bar audio adjustments, Wave Link 3.0 brings with it Siri and Shortcuts integrations, a new Liquid Glass UI, and the brand new Wave Next that gives users control over their onboard DSP effects.

Wave Link 3.0 is now available for free on both macOS and Windows.
