Bulldoze Pokémon in Pokopia are crucial in the quest to rebuild Pokémon Centers in each area, and rescuing Onix is the first time such a Pokémon becomes available.
Onix is a crucial part of the story in the first area of Pokopia, requiring your assistance to help him escape from a cave, but it’s not a quick task. Instead, the Rock-type Pokémon will be trapped in the environment until you complete the main quest for the region.
If you’ve encountered a stumbling block rescuing Onix and recruiting a Bulldoze Pokémon to join your crew, Insider Gaming has all the important details.
How to Rescue Onix in Pokopia

Onix is stuck inside a cave in Pokémon Pokopia and must be rescued using Rock Smash, although there are also other requirements.
If you have yet to explore the left-side of the map, speak to Squirtle and he will encourage you to destroy the rocks blocking access to the beach. After that’s done, he runs ahead into a cave, and you should follow.
Exploring the cave, Pokémon sounds will start to be heard, and you will come face-to-face with Onix. It asks for your help rescuing him, although Rock Smash is not strong enough to break the rocks he is stuck behind.

Instead, rescuing Onix forms part of the crucial progression quest in the first area of Pokopia, which requires raising the humidity to weaken the rocks, which can then be destroyed using rock smash.
There are several steps to this quest, including attracting Slowpoke by building its habitat and clearing a path for him to reach the Pokémon Center, which triggers the Yawn Up A Storm Quest.
At this stage, follow each of the requests from Pokémon to help increase the humidity level. Once done, Onix can be freed and you will finally have a Bulldoze Pokémon at your disposal.
What Are Bulldoze Pokémon in Pokopia?
Bulldoze Pokémon in Pokopia have a Speciality which means they can destroy buildings, including clearing the Pokémon Center rubble so it can be rebuilt.
A Pokémon with the Bulldoze Speciality is required in every area to complete the quest to rebuild the Pokémon Center, and, without it, you won’t get very far.

As you progress through Pokopia and unlock new zones, more Bulldoze Pokémon will appear, and they won’t require the same long process as obtaining Onix.
