The first non-PlayStation entry in the franchise was Resident Evil: Code Veronica. It felt like the first real jump forward for the series, and while it retains many of the Resident Evil-isms we still see today, it does them as well as any. There have been rumors of a Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake for a long time, so let’s address the speculation.
A Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake would give us a modern-day interpretation of Chris and Claire Redfield’s epic adventure, and it’s still cool that the siblings got a game together. Code Veronica was quite groundbreaking at the time for its vastly improved use of cutscenes and backgrounds.
Insider Gaming ranked the game very highly in our Resident Evil games ranked list, and a Remake can’t come soon enough.
Is Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake Happening?

Capcom has not officially confirmed that a Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake is happening, but it’s almost certain to be announced in 2026.
If you’re new to the conversation, you need to be introduced to Dusk Golem.
The social media figure has become a prominent leaker in recent years, particularly all things Resident Evil and Capcom. They leaked a plethora of details about Resident Evil Requiem that turned out to be true, they got the scoop on Leon for RE9, and even got the Monster Hunter Wilds Q1 release date spot on.

Their track record isn’t perfect, but it’s as close to it as possible.
Dusk Golem has previously stated that a Code Veronica Remake reveal is up next, and all signs point to this. If you don’t believe this, why not check out Resident Evil Requiem for more evidence?
An eagle-eyed Resident Evil player was perusing the booze in the Requiem and noticed something interesting. There’s a bottle of wine called “Avernico.” It may not seem like anything, but if you rearrange the letters, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn that it’s an anagram of Veronica.
Capcom is notorious for Easter Eggs and puzzles, and this is another strong hint that the remake is happening.
When Is Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake Coming Out?
A Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake announcement is likely to occur in 2026, but an actual game release is probably not expected until at least 2027.
Once again, handing over to Dusk Golem for this:
“Code Veronica Remake is slated to be revealed this year & release in 2027. Zero is slated to be released in 2028 (& I doubt gets delayed again, already been delayed twice). RE”10″ is currently targeting 2029, but at the whims of game dev.”
