Escape from Tarkov’s PvE Players Have Beaten PvP Gamers in a Major Way

Escape from Tarkov is still one of the most popular extraction shooters in the world, even almost a decade after the game first surfaced. It spent much of the last ten years shaping the extraction space, making a name for itself as the leading game in the genre. Last year, in November, the game hit 1.0, launching out of a beta state that had lasted several years and graduating into a ‘full game’.

What came with 1.0 was an official Escape from Tarkov campaign, a series of story missions that culminated in the ability to actually escape from Tarkov. In a recent post on social media, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games offered some juicy stats about the game’s completion loop that may or may not surprise you.

More PvE Players Have Finished Escape from Tarkov

In a post on social media, Nikita Buyanov, the outspoken head of the studio at Battlestate Games, revealed that more PvE players have completed Escape from Tarkov than PvP players. Quite a few more, in fact.

He confirmed that a total of 15,743 PvP-focused players had secured one of four Escape from Tarkov endings, compared to 17,779 PvE players. It was also revealed that the ‘Humanity’ ending, perceived as the best ending in Tarkov, has secured the lion’s share of the completion volume:

PvP

  • Survived – 682
  • Humanity – 10,440
  • Didn’t Escape – 2,611
  • Fall in Darkness – 2010

PvE

  • Survived – 1240
  • Humanity – 14,916
  • Didn’t Escape – 804
  • Fall in Darkness – 819

For the last couple of years, a debate of sorts has raged between PvE enjoyers and PvP chads. Many see PvE as the ‘weaker option’ in Escape from Tarkov, and they might be right. You’re not faced with the daunting prospect of running into a five-man stack in the corridors of the Health Resort, nor are you going to run into a rage hacker anywhere in the game’s many maps.

It’s a simpler ride, but it does have several key advantages over PvP, and that’s why more people than you think play PvE. By the end of a wipe, the figure is around a 50-50 split, Nikita Buyanov once confirmed.
