If you’ve been keeping up with social media and the hype, you’ll know a lot of people have been eagerly awaiting Battlefield REDSEC. BF 6’s battle royale component—with Gauntlet thrown in for good measure—expands on typical Battlefield multiplayer to deliver the biggest and most explosive Battlefield BR offering to date.
We had good and bad things to say about it in our Battlefield REDSEC Review, but the community has many more criticisms.
Steam Players Unhappy With Battlefield REDSEC

Battlefield REDSEC currently has 1,637 reviews on Steam, and the overall verdict is Mostly Negative. Fortunately for EA, it’s avoided the ‘Overwhelmingly Negative’ rating, which can be a damning indictment for any new launch.
The good thing is that you don’t need to buy Battlefield 6 to play REDSEC, but you can buy it from Amazon if you’re seeking the fuller experience.
But closer inspection of REDSEC’s Steam reviews reveals that people are unhappy about regular Battlefield 6 and battle royale challenges crossing over—A familiar Call of Duty and Warzone issue.
“I do not like being forced to do challenges for the battle royale, when I’m just interested in playing the base game. Please keep battle royale challenges separate from the standard multiplayer; if you want to have some multiplayer as a timed mode for the battle royale, that’s fine, but please keep it separate.”
Not having a Solo Mode playlist option.
“No solo queue and no disable autofill option so you can’t even play solo against duos so I’m writing this review because I wouldn’t have downloaded the game if I knew that beforehand so hopefully it saves someones time, I’ll edit this if they change it.”
Negativity toward the in-game UI which is also another common BF6 complaint.
“Terrible UI that mimics COD’s greedy skin bundle store 1:1 they aren’t even trying.”
Finally, the notion of Fort Lyndor’s map being massive—which players want for the Battlefield 6 main game.
“Oh wow a nice big map with lots of POIs and flanks. If only we could get something like this for the main game.”
Now, these are only a handful of cherry-picked reviews. But the consensus on many of these points is very similar, hence the Steam rating. So, time to let us know what you think of REDSEC so far.
