With the release of ARC Raiders, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are going to want to know if the game is coming to the subscription service’s library.
Times are tough money-wise, so when a new game releases, it’s always nice when you can access a game without putting additional money down.
Here is your answer to whether or not ARC Raiders is coming to Xbox Game Pass.
Is ARC Raiders on Xbox Game Pass at launch?
No, ARC Raiders is not included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription when it launches.
Anyone looking to play the new extraction shooter will need to pay either $39.99 for the standard game or $59.99 for the deluxe edition after it releases.
These days, many multiplayer-only games try to reduce the barrier to entry by going free-to-play or being included in a subscription service like Game Pass. That isn’t what ARC Raiders is doing, though. It’s a risky move in today’s climate, especially considering that the game also has a battle pass and microtransactions for players to put more money into the game.
ARC Raiders is being made by Embark Studios, who also released The Finals a few years ago, which has always been a free-to-play game, so the barrier to entry to ARC Raiders is a bit different from their previous game. The Finals seemed to be pretty popular at launch, but we wonder if the drop in player count over time pushed Embark to pursue a paid game structure while keeping the microtransactions.
Will ARC Raiders Ever Come to Xbox Game Pass?
As of this writing, there is no indication that ARC Raiders will ever come to Xbox Game Pass in the future.
As stated above, ARC Raiders is made by Embark Studios, which, as of this writing, does not have any titles that have ever been included in Xbox Game Pass. Of course, that doesn’t mean it can never happen, but there isn’t a history to look back on. The closest thing would be various perks for The Finals being included in Game Pass.
We wouldn’t recommend holding your breath for the chance to play the game in Xbox Game Pass any time soon. With the game just about to release, there is no desire for Embark to avoid charging people money to access its game. Things can change over time, though. Maybe after a few years, it will look to jump to the subscription model.
