The Astro A20 X wireless headset represents the culmination of two worlds: Astro and Logitech G. It resembles a product from the latter lineup but behaves and performs like a device from the former. I’ve been trialling the Astro A20 X for a while and can firmly say it’s the best of both worlds, combining sleek, modern aesthetics with cutting-edge audio and innovation.
If you’re on the fence and looking for a new headset, I can genuinely recommend the Astro A20 X, an attractive headset with plenty of punch inside the cups and a price tag that won’t break the bank.

The Astro A20 X Wireless Headset is Comfort Redefined
One of the things I love the most about the Astro A20 X is the comfort it offers during longer gaming sessions. It’s an ultra-lightweight headset that weighs less than 300 grams, but despite that, the battery in the headset can last a whopping 90 hours, provided you’re not using the handsome RGB elements built into the ear cups.
It’s such a dainty thing, but a few twist and drop tests reveal that it can stand up to a fair amount of punishment, which is what I’ve come to expect from Logitech’s headsets.
In the box with the Astro A20 X, you’ll find a USB hub that you can connect to your devices, allowing for a one-touch switch between whatever inputs you need. If you want to use the headset on both a PC and a console, you can do that using the PLAYSYNC mechanics provided by Logitech G.
It also helps to facilitate the LIGHTSPEED technology that sits inside every high-tier Logitech or Astro headset. This allows for the fastest connection speeds and lowest latency possible when playing games, streaming entertainment, or listening to music.

While I’m on the topic of audio, the 40mm Biocellulose drivers are phenomenal, delivering solid range and stellar directional audio in all kinds of games. I tested the on-board microphone with audio recording apps and friends, and the results were very positive, with the removable boom mic producing clear, crisp tones.
It doesn’t feature any active noise cancelling, which is one of the few drawbacks, but not enough for me to take major points away.
This Astro A20 X review is a great staging ground for me to sing the praises of this headset. In an evolution over the G522, Logitech has implemented a tactile mixamp function that lets you adjust your balance between voice and audio as you play. When you pair all this with G Hub’s latest version, you can customize the hell out of your headset, including the attractive RGB panels.
In terms of portability, the Astro A20 X works wirelessly with the LIGHTSPEED hub, Bluetooth 5.3, or as a wired USB device. It’s compatible across anything with the right inputs, which means PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch.
All this and you’re paying just $179.99 for the benefit of owning an Astro A20 X headset. That’s not bad! It’s just up to you to decide if you’d rather have this stunning headset in black or white (hint: I love the white colorway).
