The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally (and Ally X) prices have been revealed in the United Kingdom, courtesy of Curreys, a tech and household retailer. The company has long been one of the exclusive big-brand names stocking the ASUS ROG Ally line-up in the United Kingdom, and things will be no different with the arrival of the next generation of the handheld.
Both the Ally and Ally X can be pre-ordered now at Currys ‘while stocks last’.
Xbox Ally X Price Revealed in the UK
In the United Kingdom, the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally will cost £499, while the more powerful Xbox Ally X will set you back £799, putting the unit basically on par with the predecessor handheld. The new unit, which boasts better buttons, a new shell, an upgraded processor, and faster VRAM, is an upgrade over the old ROG Ally in a fair few ways.
What could be argued is that the biggest improvement is the introduction of an Xbox-themed interface, which effectively does away with the clunky and not-fit-for-handheld Windows 11 UI.
The basic, entry-level ROG Xbox Ally is still a powerhouse, boasting a 1080p, 120Hz screen, a 60Wh battery, and all the trappings of the ASUS ROG roster, including RGB touches, full-sized thumbsticks, and a decent set of front-facing speakers.
If you opt for the Xbox Ally X at £799, you’ll secure the AMD Ryzen Z2 AI Extreme processor, which is a boost over the Ally’s Z2A processor. The Ally X also has 24 GB of RAM, while the lower-end model boasts just 16 GB. The battery life will go much further, and the storage capabilities are almost doubled, so it’s a no-brainer for a little extra cash.
Some users have reported on social media that Currys sent around an updated email with new imagery that does not contain the price points for the ROG Xbox Ally units, so something might be subject to change.
