Everyone loves a good photomode menu, and that’s true even for those hellbent on slashing through endless hordes of zombies in Dying Light: The Beast. The latest title in the acclaimed series is here from Techland, and as an avid digital photographer, one thing I wanted to know is when does photomode unlock in Dying Light: The Beast?
If you’re eager to start snapping pictures of Castor Woods and sharing them across socials, read on. You’ll be happy to know it doesn’t take all that long before photomode is unlocked.
How to Use Photomode in Dying Light: The Beast
Early in the game in Dying Light: The Beast, you’ll notice that photomode is locked in the main menu, which might leave you feeling somewhat perplexed. The franchise’s photomode was enhanced dramatically for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, so why would it be locked in Dying Light: The Beast?
Well, it’s not forever.
In Dying Light: The Beast, photomode will unlock when the mission named ‘Life After Life’ begins, which is when you leave the monastery after meeting Olivia and defeating the first Chimera. When you head down towards Castor Woods proper, you’ll be able to open the main menu, hit Photo Mode, and start snapping away to your heart’s desire.
It’s a relatively run-of-the-mill photomode compared to other open-world games, but there’s enough there to add some artistic flair to your screenshots.
There’s plenty to capture in Dying Light: The Beast, too. The world is stunning, the enemies are ferocious, and the small details are just begging for macro-style examinations up close.
