Mega Hawlucha Soars Into Action In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Pokémon Legends: Z-A has announced the next Pokémon to get a Mega Evolution: Hawlucha. The highly anticipated title, set to release on October 16th, has been revealing more and more up to release. It was teased earlier this week that a new Pokémon would get a Mega Evolution. Finally, we now know which Pokémon it was, and it’s a fan-favorite.

The development of Pokémon Legends Z-A goes back at least a couple of years. It wasn’t until this year that we saw any gameplay, but, now, it won’t be long until we play it. Set in the Kalos region, featured in Pokémon X and Y, gameplay will be more real-time than the traditional turn-based combat. Still, many enjoyed it in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and, according to recent previews, it works quite well.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Reveals Mega Hawlucha in New Trailer

In the trailer, shown above, we see Hawlucha take on a Machamp in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Towards the end of the trailer, the Hawlucha transforms into Mega Hawlucha and shows off some impressive moves. It’s a great spectacle, made even better by another CG trailer released alongside it. In that, we get a full-on wrestling match between the two Pokémon, which is fitting for them.

Hawlucha, first shown in 2013’s Pokémon X and Y, is a Fighting and Flying-type Pokémon. Inspired by Latin American wrestlers, it can perform the powerful Flying Press. Hawlucha has appeared in many other Pokémon titles like Sword and Shield, as well as Scarlet and Violet. Seeing the character’s popularity, it’s not surprising that many are delighted to see Mega Hawlucha enter the ring in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
