Former Black Panther Devs Hired At Wizards Of The Coast For New Game

Wizards of the Coast has hired a number of former developers who were previously working on EA’s canceled Black Panther game for a new title at the company.

In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Wizards of the Coast president John Hight revealed that the new team is being led by former Monolith Productions director Michael de Plater. He added that alongside de Plater, the company brought in 14 people who were working at the recently closed Cliffhanger Studios.

The new game is currently in the incubation stage, with Hight saying that concept development is getting started. Though he can’t say what it is right now, Hight says that the idea is “something very cool and new“.

Regarding when more information on this new game will game, Hight didn’t put any time frame together. Instead, he said that he wants to give the new team time to do things right.

“We’ll go through a fairly lengthy concept process where they’re going to look at a lot of different ideas,” he said.
