Battlefield 6 Took ‘Huge Inspiration’ from Bad Company 2’s Destruction

Battlefield 6 developers have revealed that a significant amount of inspiration was drawn from 2010’s Bad Company 2’s destruction.

The open beta for Battlefield 6 is all set to arrive on August 7, 2025, and players are already lining up in thousands just to mess around with the game’s settings. Ahead of its release, the developers continue to reveal new information about the upcoming title. Most recently, DICE informed players that mice and keyboards will be compatible with consoles. Now, the devs have spoken about the inspiration for Battlefield 6’s destruction.

Battlefield 6 Devs Acknowledge Bad Company 2’s Intimate Destructive Experience

During an interview with PC Gamer, Jeremy Chubb, the lead multiplayer producer at DICE, stated that Bad Company 2’s destruction was a “huge inspiration” for Battlefield 6. Chubb noted, When players search for “look for excellence in our legacy, Bad Company 2 is where you find it.”

The Battlefield 6 multiplayer producer went on to praise Bad Company 2 further, talking about the game’s “level of fidelity and a sort of intimate destructive experience.” Chubb added that players could blast out single walls, bring down partial buildings or even entire buildings. The 2010 Battlefield title had a “comprehensive” system, which “felt like the identity of the game”. Chubb acknowledged that this experience was missing from their last game (2042), and they “really wanted to go back to that.”

In other news, Battlefield 6’s latest leak has given players a glimpse of one of the battle royale POIs. Also, the game’s beta size has been revealed ahead of launch.
