While Ultimate Team and gameplay usually recieve the most attention for new games, the devs made a concerted effort to improve Career Mode in EA FC 26.
EA reviewed the most common complaints from FC 25 and addressed them in FC 26. For example, you can no longer perform trivela shots unless that player has the Game Changer PlayStyle. In addition, EA rebalanced attributes to make players with higher base attributes execute gameplay mechanics, even if they don’t have the corresponding PlayStyle.
FC 26 also introduces a new competitive gameplay style that nerfs AI defending, improves goalkeeping and dribbling, and speeds up passing, among other changes. As for offline fans, the authentic gameplay sliders make the gameplay feel more realistic and less arcadey. And that’s not the only new feature for offline fans.
EA FC 26 Career Mode New Features
The two main additions to Manager Career Mode are challenges and the manager market. There is now a dynamic hub filled with challenges that rotate on a weekly and monthly basis throughout the upcoming season.
EA provided a few examples of what fans can expect.
“Can you win the league with only youth players? Can you survive relegation with a -20 point deduction? Can you take a team in the bottom league to champions league glory only playing domestic players?”
Challenges can start at any point in a season as well. Here are two examples.
- Midseason Relegation Battle: Start in February with your team in the relegation zone, and fight to avoid the drop.
- Title Decider: Begin in April with your team just two points behind the league leaders, with only five games left to play.
Some parameters can be enforced to make the experience even more challenging, such as not being allowed to restart matches and a minimum difficulty level. Challenges also offer rewards, such as licensed retro kits to use in future Career Mode saves and progression in your Season Pass.
In the Season Pass, you can unlock ICONs and Heroes to use in the game mode. The Manager Market introduces a system that changes how opposition managers can leave their club. This included getting sacked, being poached by another club, or voluntarily leaving to pursue a different opportunity.
You will have the opportunity to apply for these jobs, and if you are compatible, your application will be accepted. Other clubs will also approach you directly if you find success.
