FromSoftware has announced that it will be delaying its duo-mode update, known as Patch 1.02, due to the recent tsunami warning.
Announced over on X, it was announced on the official Elden Ring channel, “Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the ‘ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN’ Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today.”
The announcement continued to say that the update will be released tomorrow, July 31, at 10AM CEST / 1AM PDT instead.
Also announced was the delay of the second cycle of Everdark Sovereign, which was scheduled to be released later today. That update will be delayed, “until after the update file has been distributed,” it was said.
The tsunami warning is a result of a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the Russian coast, which has seen millions of people ordered to evacuate coastal areas across Russia, Japan, and parts of the US. In Japan, 1.9 million people have been told to evacuate to higher ground.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Elden Ring Nightreign, which at launch was only playable solo or in trios, sold over 2 million units within the first 24 hours, but surpassed 5 million units globally in less than 2 months from release.
Elden Ring Nightreign is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.
