Black Ops 6 Season 5 Roadmap Revealed Ahead of August 7 Launch

Activision has lifted the lid on Black Ops 6 Season 5, the imminent super-sized update set to drop on August 7. This new mega update introduces four new maps, six new modes, four weapons, and scores of content that players can lap up while they wait for Black Ops 7.

Many believe this is potentially the final season for Black Ops 6 content, so enjoy it while you can.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Black Ops 6 Season 5 update roadmap.

New Black Ops 6 Maps Coming with Season 5

Season 5 in Black Ops 6 introduces four new maps, one of which is a remastered map from 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

First, there’s Runway, a core multiplayer map built around a decimated airport terminal that’s crumbling around you as you play. Exchange is a smaller map based in an Avalon marketplace, open-air, and with a traditional three-lane, boxy layout.

World Motor Dynasty, otherwise known as W.M.D., is the remastered Black Ops map that takes the layout of the arena introduced in 2010 and offers up something more modern and transformed. The bones of the original map are still there, but it has been brought up to spec.

Finally, there’s Jackpot, a map coming in the mid-season update that plants players in the middle of the Casino Luttazzi. It’s based loosely around the Casino map from Black Ops 4.

Four New Black Ops 6 Weapons in Season 5

Black Ops 6’s Season 5 update heralds the arrival of four new weapons, one of which we haven’t seen in Call of Duty for four years.

There’s the Gravemark .357 revolver, a powerful weapon available as an event award mid-season. The PML 5.56 is a hard-hitting LMG that’s unlockable through the Battle Pass, while the Boxing Gloves surface as a melee weapon, also available as an event reward.

The returning weapon is the ABR A1, which is recognised as the COD universe variant of the AUG, a bullpup rifle that’s a timeless classic where games are concerned.

Two new attachments are being introduced with Season 5 as well – the PPSH-41 helical magazine (event reward) and the 9mm PM Skull Splitter barrel.

Modes Galore in Black Ops 6 Season 5

Six modes are being introduced to Black Ops 6 with the Season 5 update, including one brand-new mode that promises to be a little challenging if you’re not capable enough on the sticks.

Aim High is a mode that favors headshots, making them an instant kill, while bodyshots deal almost no damage. Snipers Only is self-explanatory, while Cranked Moshpit is a fast-paced fan favorite. In the season, we’ll also get Cranked Demolition, Blueprint Gunfight, and Ransack.

The Black Ops 6 Season 5 update kicks off on August 7.
