After almost two years in early access, Abiotic Factor is now available on platforms aside from PC, and we’ve got details on crossplay functionality.
Abiotic Factor’s 1.0 launch took place on July 22, bringing the game to console for the first time, and the title is included with a Game Pass subscription.
If you’re looking to play Abiotic Factor with friends on other platforms through crossplay, or are keen to know if cross-progression is available, we’ve got the details for you.
Is There Crossplay in Abiotic Factor?

Yes, Abiotic Factor has full crossplay and cross-platform multiplayer, so you can play with friends across all platforms.
The Steam listing confirms crossplay in Abiotic Factor, alongside additional multiplayer features like online co-operative play and co-op via LAN, which includes crossplay functionality.
Abiotic Factor is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the full 1.0 update now released, having been in early access on PC since November 9, 2023. Thanks to crossplay, it doesn’t matter which platform you’re on, as you can play with friends across them all.
Crossplay is completely optional too, so you can avoid the mechanic altogether if it’s something you are not interested in. If you want to go down this route, the best approach is to avoid public servers and stick to a private server with your friends.
If you do go down the crossplay route, be aware that mods are not available for those on console, though that is one of the only limitations you need to be aware of.
Is There Cross-Progression in Abiotic Factor?
Yes, Abiotic Factor supports cross-progression, so you can easily continue your saved game on any console where you own the title.
Saves and character progress in Abiotic Factoe are stored online, allowing you to quickly transfer things over, including all unlocked achievements, crafting recipes, and story progress.
Cross-progression is available across all platforms, so you can switch between Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC as you see fit.
On top of this, those on Xbox and PC can easily continue their games with the Xbox Play Anywhere feature, making it even easier to switch platforms on the fly.
Of course, you’ll need online connection to be able to benefit from the cross-platform feature and continue your progression on the fly, so make sure you’re connected before you attempt to utilize cross-platform.
