Borderlands 4 finally has a release date for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In a post on social media, Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford announced that the next game in the Borderlands series will launch on Nintendo’s newest console on October 3, 2025.
“I know a lot of you are excited about it because the Nintendo Switch 2 is a freakin’ awesome platform,” he said.
He continued: “And I know that you’re worried about it because we haven’t yet announced a launch date, we haven’t yet opened preorders. And many of you take that as a sign that the game isn’t coming out anytime soon.”
After teasing in a somewhat somber tone regarding the status of the game, Pitchford dropped the news of the game coming October 3.
“It’s not next year, it’s not even the holiday,” he said. “It’s so much before Christmas. It’s so much before Thanksgiving. It’s October 3rd, you guys!”
If you can’t wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, Borderlands 4 launches on September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
