The wait for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is almost over. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming spin-off’s release date and start times.
2025 has been an excellent year for Ninja Gaiden fans. There hasn’t been a mainline game in the series since 2012, and fans don’t just have one title to enjoy after a 13-year wait—2025 features three new releases. A Ninja Gaiden 2 remake was announced and released on January 23. Team Ninja utilized Unreal Engine 5 to rebuild the game from the ground up, while remaining faithful to the original.
Then, the next game in the series, Ninja Gaiden 4, is set to launch on October 21. The fourth main chapter in the Ninja Gaiden series occurs significantly after Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and sees a new protagonist, Yakumo, called to action. Yet, while Ninja Gaiden 4 pushes the series in a modern direction, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound goes back to its roots.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Release Date

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound officially releases on July 31.
The Game Kitchen, known for creating the critically-acclaimed Blashemous 1 and 2, collaborated with Koei Tecmo to create this spin-off. Similar to Blasphemous, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2D side-scrolling action game that follows the story of new protagonists, Kenji Mozu and Kumori.
You take control of both ninjas and follow their story, as you take on a challenging game, designed even to test longtime series veterans.
The development team explained, “The brutal, nostalgia-filled aesthetic of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of modern pixel art, making every battle a feast for the eyes.”
