First Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer Released

The first trailer for Mortal Kombat 2 has officially been released. After Warner Bros posted a teaser to hold fans over on Wednesday, the full length trailer dropped on Thursday, giving players a look at classic characters both returning and new.

Returning characters from the first movie include Scropion, Liu Kang, Jax, Sonya Blade, Shang Tsung, Kano, and Raiden. Aside from Johnny Cage, characters like Sindel, Jade, Bi-Han, Shao Kahn, and Baraka also make their debut appearance. And yes, Baraka is just as terrifying to look at in the film as he is in the game.

“From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster video game franchise in all its brutal glory, Mortal Kombat II,” the movie’s description reads. “This time, the fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.”

Check out the trailer for yourself below, and let us know what you think over in the Insider Gaming forums.

Mortal Kombat 2 releases in theaters on October 24, 2025.
