Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is experiencing a remarkable launch week, debuting at the top of the United Kingdom’s physical sales charts.
Death Standing 2: On the Beach was released on June 26, 2025, taking players on a new journey that connects another continent to the chiral network. There were moments during the pandemic when Hideo Kojima thought he would never finish developing this title. Thankfully, he did, and the game seems to be doing pretty well, too.
Death Stranding 2 Ranks Higher than Mario Kart World in UK Physical Sales Charts
Spotted by Eurogamer, a new tweet by Christopher Dring provides details about Death Stranding 2’s ranking and performance in the UK physical charts last week. The game debuted at “No.1”; however, its physical launch sales were “66% lower” than those of Death Stranding 1. Dring explained that the drop in physical sales could be due to “different eras” as “it’s a far more digital market today.” The launch physical sales for DS2 was also “33% lower” than Astro Bot.
