Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is next up for Activision and Treyarch. It’s an immediate follow-up to Black Ops 6, and Treyarch is already giving hope to Black Ops 2 players by saying they’ll have a good time if they enjoy the competitive side of CoD.
Many nostalgic fans look back on Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 as peak Call of Duty. We all have our favorites, but there is something special about the early BLOPS years. Treyarch is getting another entry with Black Ops 7 in 2025, and CDL Champs has already revealed an interesting sentiment about the shooter.
Black Ops 7 Can be Like Black Ops 2, Competitively Speaking
CDL Champs has been ongoing in the gaming world. We’ve heard thoughts from Surge, Optic Mercules, but also Treyarch’s associate design director.
Per Charlie Intel, the dev spoke about Black Ops 7 during CDL Champs. He said: “If you’re a fan of Black Ops 2 back in the day, especially if you’re a fan of Black Ops 2 competitive, you’re gonna have a good time in Black Ops 7.“
The League Play was widely praised in Black Ops 2, if that’s what they’re hinting at. Between the maps, modes, and weapons, there was a ton to like in Black Ops 2. We’ll have to see what the company has in store for BLOPS 7 and if it can deliver one of the most compelling and competitive CoDs in recent memory.
