New Concept Art From Cancelled Batman Game Appears Online

In a series of images uncovered from a now-removed Artstation page, eagle-eyed Batman fans have gained another glimpse at Project Sabbath. This was a developing Damian Wayne title at WB Games Montréal, cancelled several years ago but originally intended as a follow-up to 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight.

The new concept art that surfaced from Project Sabbath showcases Damian Wayne, his grizzled father, Bruce, and Killer Croc, amongst others.

Not Fast Enough

The Artstation page hosting the concept art from the cancelled Project Sabbath title has since been taken down, but not before super sleuths secured the images and circulated them on social media.

New concept art from WB Games Montréal's cancelled 2015 Damian Wayne game "Project Sabbath" has surfaced, shared by character artist Rodrigue Pralier. The pieces clearly show Damian, an older Bruce, Killer Croc, and Huntress.Check them out here: artstation.com/artwork/2Bn8yA

(Thanks to Eurogamer for the spot)

In the ‘leaked’ concept art for Project Sabbath, we see a young Damian Wayne following in his father’s footsteps in Gotham City. There’s an older, rougher rendition of Bruce Wayne, now reliant on a cane (Michael?), and images of Killer Croc, who looks fairly terrifying.

The characters are also flanked by Huntress in these concept images.

WB Games Montréal abandoned Project Sabbath many years ago and pivoted to focus on Gotham Knights, which was a less-than-stellar delivery. Over the years, a few ‘leaks’ have caused concept shots to emerge from Project Sabbath, and it was one rumoured that the game would have included the Nemesis System that made the Middle-earth: Shadow series so popular.

Batman hasn’t had the most solid run in the gaming world of late, which is a huge shame. Perhaps we’re universally dropping off the superhero gimmick, except Marvel Rivals and perhaps Spider-Man. Where’s Wolverine? That’s what I want to know.

Looking at these shots, do you wish we’d seen Project Sabbath delivered? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum.
