11 Bit Studios has added several of its previous projects to Xbox Game Pass, but is that the case for The Alters?
In May, Microsoft announced that Xbox would be raising the price of its first-party games to $80 this holiday season. Additionally, prices for consoles and hardware increased. These price increases are global, and not just in the United States.
The Outer Worlds 2 became the first game to join the $80 lineup, as it launches on October 29. The subscription cost of Xbox Game Pass has also increased several times. Yet, considering the new price tag for games, paying a monthly fee to access hundreds of previously released games and several new titles on day one remains one of the best deals in gaming.
Can You Play The Alters on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes, The Alters is coming to Xbox Game Pass as a day-one launch title for Ultimate members, and will also be available on PC Game Pass.
The Alters follows the story of Jan Dolski, a miner, who was the lone survivor of a crash landing on a dangerous planet. The sci-fi survival game challenges players to survive by collecting resources, crafting items, building a base, and managing all of The Alters, which are clones of Dolski.
A Game Pass Ultimate subscription currently costs $19.99 a month. As for other day-one Ultimate games in June, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition launched on June 10, while FBC: Firebreak and Lost in Random: The Eternal Day launch on June 17.
How to Play The Alters on Xbox Game Pass
You need to purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership subscription to play The Alters. When the game officially launches on June 13, a download option will be available through the subscription service.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to complete the simple process.
- Log in to your official Xbox account.
- Subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate.
- Go to the Xbox Store.
- Use the search function to find The Alters.
- Select the game page.
- Download the title once it’s ready to install.
- Once it’s installed and all updates are applied, you can play The Alters, starting at 8 AM EDT on June 13.
