At Summer Game Fest 2025, Yacht Club Games revealed an official release date for Mina the Hollower and shadow-dropped a limited-time demo.
Yacht Club Games employee Alec Faulkner originally started developing Mina the Hollower as a side project, but management picked up the title and launched a Kickstarter campaign for it in 2022. As of March 14, 21,439 backers contributed, resulting in over $1.2 million in funds for the game’s development.
After years of development, the ambitious game has finally been given a release date and a surprise demo.
Mina The Hollower Release Date Announcement Trailer
Mina the Hollower officially launches on October 31. There is also a limited-time demo available on Steam today. The demo comes with a catch, however, as it is only available to play from June 9 through June 16. The demo features the game’s opening stage and concludes with the first major boss fight.
This game is inspired by classic Game Boy gameplay. You take control of Mina and whip foes, burrow into the ground, and explore the world.
All progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game at launch, but the demo will be removed after Steam Next Fest.
In other Summer Game Fest news, Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches in October, Deadpool VR releases late 2025, and Dying Light: The Beast gets an official release date.
