It’s nearly time for kick-off. The referee’s lips are poised, controllers are ready, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers have Rematch’s subscription potential on their minds.
Microsoft doesn’t always knock it out of the park, but when it does, it’s usually because of Xbox Game Pass. The service is home to hundreds of free games in exchange for a generous monthly fee. Lots of exclusives arrive on Game Pass from day one, and with Rematch being one of the hottest commodities on the market, it’s only right to question its position.
I don’t mean if it’s a Goalkeeper or non-passing teammate upfront, but if Rematch is on Xbox Game Pass.
Can You Play Rematch on Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is adding Rematch to its subscription service. So if you have a valid membership, you can start saving shots and scoring goals the second it goes live.
I don’t see this as anything other than a win for Rematch. It’s not quite like Rocket League debuting as a free PlayStation Plus game when it first came out, but it’s close. A lot of eyes are going to be on Sloclap’s new soccer title; it’s going to blow up with viral clips on social media, and being on Xbox Game Pass should ensure success.
The official Rematch Xbox game page has the green label you always want to see, saying: “Get Game Pass—Coming soon to Game Pass.“
If you don’t, you might be on the receiving end of a yellow card!
How to Play Rematch on Xbox Game Pass
To score Rematch for free, you need to purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership subscription. Once active, download Rematch when the option to install is available, and you have access once it’s up.
If you’ve never done this before, I’ve broken down the process into a few easy passes to get you to the goal:
- Log in to your official Xbox account.
- Find out your Xbox Game Pass status.
- Subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate.
- Go to the Xbox Store.
- Use the search function to find Rematch.
- Select the game page.
- Download the title once it’s ready to install.
- Once it’s installed and all updates are applied, you can play Rematch the second it debuts.
So, Xbox owners can start planning the Rematch trophy parade. This is a big win, and the multiplayer title should benefit from a larger audience. Can it compete with modern-day contemporaries such as Rocket League? Let us know your full thoughts over at the Insider Gaming official forum.
