Activision Hiding Player Levels In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Lobbies

In what appears to be an effort to stop players from continuously leaving games, Activision is now hiding player levels in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer lobbies.

UPDATE: Activision has addressed the claims, stating that it’s a bug that is being investigated.

First spotted by Ghost of Hope, player levels for people not in your party are no longer being shown. As you can see in the image below, both the level number and badge are gone. In their place is a a standard “user” icon.

Black Ops 6 already allows players to hide their own levels through an option in the game’s privacy settings. However, this appears to be something implemented as part of the launch of Season 4.

As for a reason why, Activision hasn’t made a public statement on the change. There’s also no mention of this change in the official Season 4 patch notes leading to the possibility of it being a bug in the current version of the game. Insider Gaming, however, has reached out to Activision for comment and confirmation on if this was intentional or not.
