Secret Warzone Season 4 Gas Change Added to Patch Notes After Release

The Warzone Season 4 patch notes were released. They provided a long list of changes, including the usual slew of updates and meta-changing alterations. But eagle-eyed users have noticed an extra change has been added to the Season 4 update, which affects the gas and can cause you to appear on the mini-map.

A ton of buffs and nerfs are happening in the Warzone Season 4 update. There’s nothing new there, and Verdansk is keeping the player base stable and retaining players quite well. Warzone has gotten a lot of things right lately, but a new twist on the gas mechanic could leave players gagging for air in Season 4.

As shown by ModernWarzone, the Season 4 patch notes feature a tweak that was reportedly not included when they were first announced.

It’s touted as a “Coughing in Gas Quality of life” change. This gameplay mechanic has the following implication: “Enemies will appear as a red dot on the tac map when coughing in the gas.

Even casual Warzone players realize how catastrophic this could be if you’re caught in the gas. Given that many late-game skirmishes and strategies involve using the gas, this means that if you don’t have a Gas Mask, your position is compromised.

We haven’t heard many rumblings about the gas and players being unhappy. This feels like a change the community didn’t ask for, and could hurt the game. Conversely, players may welcome the addition—we’ll have to see if the QOL change is embraced or hated.

Social media is sure to be rife with comments about the change. But right now, what do you think about this gas change? Is it an interesting twist on the usual gameplay? Or is it a negative move you’re unhappy about? Head to the comment section to air your thoughts. Plus, the Insider Gaming forum is a great place to discuss this further.
