Cyberpunk 2 is in the Pre-Production Phase
CD Projekt Red is posting the highlights of their earnings call on their official X account, and that’s how we learned that Cyberpunk 2 has entered its pre-production phase. However, this information doesn’t explain how long we might have to wait for the game to release, as it could take several years before the game enters the production phase.
The developers also provided a diagram showing the diversification of teams according to projects. As of April 30, 2025, CD Projekt Red had 730 developers working on all types of projects. The major chunk is focusing on Witcher 4, with 422 developers involved in the project. The next game receiving the most attention is the Cyberpunk sequel, with 96 developers working on this project.
Moreover, CDPR has allocated 48 developers to Project Sirius, a fresh take on the Witcher series. They have 19 developers working on Project Hadar, an upcoming original. The rest of the developers are working on shared services and other unannounced projects developed by them or third parties.
