New Pokémon TCG Pocket Update to Make Ranked Mode Easier And Improve Rewards

Pokémon TCG Pocket added Ranked Mode for more competitive battling. It rewards players who win more and offers lavish bonuses to those ranked higher. However, the community believes the mode could be more streamlined, and the developer’s next Ranked Mode update could be a step in the right direction.

A future update for Ranked Matches aims to improve rewards and rankings. Players will no longer be punished too harshly for failing to maintain their position. Plus, if you’re good enough, even more goodies await you if you can maintain a winning streak.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Update Should Make “Ranked Matches More Enjoyable”

The official Pokémon TCG Pocket X page has notified players of upcoming changes. In a May 28 post, the team has outlined changes coming to Ranked Mode.

“The following updates are planned in order to make Ranked Matches more enjoyable:

  • Starting after the season beginning in late June, a consecutive win bonus will be added to Ultra Ball Rank and Master Ball Rank.
  • Starting after the season beginning in late July, players will no longer drop from the following ranks mid-season:
    • Master Ball to Ultra Ball
    • Ultra Ball to Great Ball

Please note that there are currently no plans to change drops in rank that are applied at the beginning of the season.”

The changes aren’t immediate and are slowly being phased in. So, if you can put together more wins in higher ranks, you receive more rewards. Demotion penalties won’t be as strict moving forward from July either.

Are you a regular Pokémon TCG Pocket ranked player? Is this the kind of progress you’re desperate to see in the mode? Drop a comment below, and take the conversation to the Insider Gaming forum.
